Introduced in 1969 as a high-performance package to slot below the range-topping models from Shelby, the Mach 1 was the every-man's Mustang, and after the pony car lost its way in the late '70s, the Mach 1 wasn't seen again until 2003, when Ford reintroduced the package as the top performing 'Stang this side of the GT500.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 179px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_lO_mFpZYfwg/Sir-iojPXpI/AAAAAAAAFUU/mE7L4VXYnHc/s320/1.jpg" border="0" alt="Ford Mustang-1"id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5344363778782748306" /><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 206px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_lO_mFpZYfwg/Sir-h2kCI6I/AAAAAAAAFUM/5fOtWmWhRUI/s320/2.JPG" border="0" alt="Ford Mustang-2"id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5344363765364302754" />We already know there's no Mach 1 for the 2010 model year, but there's at least a little speculation that the historic moniker could be revived for 2011, coinciding with the expected launch of Ford's latest 5.0-liter 400-horsepower Coyote V8 engine. What better excuse could there be for a performance edition? Fortunately for us, Edmundo Cano put mouse to Photoshop and created an enticing rendering of what a factory 2011 Mach 1 might look like.

We're particularly fond of the flat black paint running down the center of the Mustang's hood, which now features the obligatory shaker scoop. Similarly blacked-out 20-inch Torq-Thrust-style wheels look the part, and the whole package is rounded out with Hugger Orange paint and Mach 1 graphics package. We wholeheartedly approve and can't wait to see what Ford has in store in 2011.

© Source: autoblog
We need your comments below >>

AnnaCardinalhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15603147400297077890noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18623385.post-61110415603576373882009-06-06T16:22:00.000-07:002009-06-06T16:23:24.451-07:00GM reinvention commercial – videoWe'll start off by saying that this spoof on General Motors' Re:invention commercial is not exactly fair and not exactly accurate... but it is funny. Driving pleasure and sports handling will be a focus compared to its cousins, the Audi Q7 and the Volkswagen Tuareg. The updated engines will be those already seen on the Panamera, including the future hybrid version and V6 diesel. The years went by and the project languished. In 2004, Superior Glass Works acquired the unfinished dream. Five more years and many thousands of hours later, the Superior 54 Sport Wagon is available…at last.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 213px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_lO_mFpZYfwg/SikXTM9W1-I/AAAAAAAAFT0/TfMy534Pgj4/s320/1.JPG" border="0" alt="2009 Superior 54 Sport Wagon"id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5343828051515332578" />The journey was one that combined old-school craftsmanship and leading-edge technology. One of the most significant pieces of this project was to create the ‘plug’ – the body from which a mold could be made. Without an original body to start with, the plug was build using wood, foam, fiberglass, body filler, steel and anything else that would yield the desired form. These materials were shaped entirely by hand using only simple tools to create an extremely accurate model from which the molds were made.

The next phase of the project blasted our team into the modern era of product design and development. The now-perfect plug was imaged with a 3-D scanner, producing electronic files of the body from every angle. These were handed off to a CAD drafter to digitally create all of the body and window trim pieces. Rapid-prototyping technology was utilized to produce each part in full scale that were then installed on the body. After final hand-fitting of each trim piece, the master parts were finished and ready for production and chrome.

The Superior 54 Sport Wagon chassis is equipped with modern, high-performance, C5 Corvette suspension that not even the renowned auto-innovator Harley Earl could have imagined. Designed and built in partnership with Art Morrison Enterprises, Inc., the chassis brings today's sports car technology to this classic.

© Source: seriouswheels
We need your comments below >>

AnnaCardinalhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15603147400297077890noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18623385.post-6405977698197951852009-06-05T05:54:00.000-07:002009-06-05T05:57:04.828-07:00Alfa Romeo MiTo Novitec tuningWhile waiting for the Alfa Romeo MiTo GTA, whose presentation ocurred at the Geneva motor show, Novitec has revealed its interpretation of the MiTo. The company is presenting the production i-MiEV as the ultimate eco-car, a solution to the various challenges the automobile faces today including environmental pollution, global warming and the depletion of petroleum-based energy supplies.

The company will continue its extensive collaboration with both private and public sectors in Japan and overseas in developing infrastructure to promote ownership of EVs. Mitsubishi Motors said in a statement that it expects to distribute, on a maintenance lease basis, some 1400 i-MiEV models in 2009 principally to corporations and to local authorities.

The company plans to start sales of i-MiEV to individuals in April 2010 and will start taking orders in late July of this year.

© Source: caradvice
We need your comments below >>

AnnaCardinalhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15603147400297077890noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18623385.post-4795989899880701572009-06-05T05:45:00.000-07:002009-06-05T05:48:08.748-07:00Subaru Stella Electric Car on saleStella is an interesting name for an electric car, but that’s what Japanese manufacturer Subaru are calling its innovative plug-in electric car, which has gone on sale in Japan as of today. Subaru Stella will begin deliveries from late July.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 213px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_lO_mFpZYfwg/SikT2bJh9gI/AAAAAAAAFS0/Zrrdr6ibUXY/s320/2.jpg" border="0" alt="Subaru Stella Electric Car -1"id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5343824258573399554" /><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 213px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_lO_mFpZYfwg/SikT2eSLsjI/AAAAAAAAFSs/Hiw36S2tZcA/s320/22.jpg" border="0" alt="Subaru Stella Electric Car -2"id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5343824259414995506" />The all-wheel drive company (although the Stella’s front-wheel drive only) expects to sell only 170 of the electric cars over the next Japanese fiscal year (finishing March 31, 2010). The best thing about the Stella is its city-friendly nature. If you live in the City or about 10-30km away from work, the Stella would be perfect.

It manages around 90 kilometers on a single charge, which may not sound like a lot, but wait for the best bit. It can be recharged up to 80 per cent capacity (72 kilometres) in just 15 minutes using its quick charge system.

While some cars claim to be environmentally friendly, given the Stella is all electric, it produces zero carbon-dioxide emissions.

There are some disadvantages though, it only has 47 kilowatts of power, which is adequate for city driving but may struggle on the highway.

© Source: caradvice
We need your comments below >>

AnnaCardinalhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15603147400297077890noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18623385.post-15096668819331672192009-06-05T05:42:00.000-07:002009-06-05T05:45:49.772-07:00Rolls Royce Mini John Cooper Works – spied shotsRolls Royce was expected to have “tuned-up” a Mini all its own in a brand new Mini look. Always ahead of the pack with their tuning prowess, the first such program comes from BRABUS, with the company offering substantial styling and performance upgrades for the new E Coupe.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 213px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_lO_mFpZYfwg/SiP6H5qSXqI/AAAAAAAAFSM/4e10f_MSymE/s320/1.jpg" border="0" alt="2010 BRABUS Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe-1"id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5342388596635754146" /><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 213px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_lO_mFpZYfwg/SiP6Hm0siZI/AAAAAAAAFSE/lnohigtazlY/s320/2.jpg" border="0" alt="2010 BRABUS Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe-2"id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5342388591579138450" />Outside, changes range from a new BRABUS front spoiler, front quarter panels, rocker panels and a rear apron to new BRABUS Monoblock light-alloy wheels in your choice of 17, 18, 19 or 20 inches. Complimenting its sportier appearance, BRABUS boosted the E500 (and E550) Coupe's displacement to 6.1-Liters, resulting in a total output of 462 hp (456 bhp) / 340 kW and a peak torque of 615 Nm (453 lb-ft) at just 3,100 rpm. As a result, the tuned E500 Coupe can accelerate from 0-62 mph in 4.7 seconds before reaching a top speed of 196 mph.

To ensure your performance-oriented E-Class Coupe stays planted firmly on the road, BRABUS has also added a height-adjustable coil-over sport suspension along with a high performance brake system – one that features six-piston aluminum fixed calipers and 360 mm (14.2 inches) vented and cross-drilled discs on the front axle (four-piston aluminum fixed calipers are fitted on the rear).

As is the case with all the BRABUS Mercedes tuning programs, there are a host of options which can be customized based on your specific requirements, including performance enhancements for different engine variants, interior enhancements, etc. As for the specific engine tuning program noted above for the E500 Coupe (E550 Coupe in the U.S.), it'll set you back EUR 29,000.

© Source: emercedesbenz
We need your comments below >>

AnnaCardinalhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15603147400297077890noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18623385.post-77143204049978932872009-06-01T08:42:00.000-07:002009-06-01T08:50:37.075-07:002010 Lexus LF-A For Tokyo Motor Show DebutSince pretty much everyone is ditching the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show, rumor has it Toyota will finally unveil the production 2010 Lexus LF-A, a laughably expensive, V10-powered supercar with only 500 copies available.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 206px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_lO_mFpZYfwg/SiP4hOf6LsI/AAAAAAAAFR8/ekgUbqe_JcM/s320/1.JPG" border="0" alt="2010 Lexus LF-A-1"id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5342386832702844610" /><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 213px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_lO_mFpZYfwg/SiP4hGHfkfI/AAAAAAAAFR0/o96UiTTyI7A/s320/2.jpg" border="0" alt="2010 Lexus LF-A-2"id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5342386830452953586" />If the rumor-mill is on its "A" game, Toyota will finally be trotting out the production version of its Formula 1 inspired super-mega-awesome-car from the land of the rising sun at their Tokyo show stand. The production will be as scarce as the unicorn farts used to carbonize the surface of the cams (the equivalent of 500 copies). It'll reportedly get two models, the pedestrian GT550 and the more raucous SS550, which will inevitably cause consternation amongst the l33t speakers in the supercar market.

That banshee of a V10 under the hood should be good for engineering pr0n and produce somewhere around 500 HP, which, seems a bit weak for the expected $310,000 asking price. Since we're pretty sure conspicuous consumption is still the "in" thing among the legally wealthy, we're expecting the super expensive, obnoxiously styled, limited run automobile will find plenty of fine homes in fortified compounds across the world.

© Source: jalopnik
We need your comments below >>

AnnaCardinalhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15603147400297077890noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18623385.post-62175852283943607922009-06-01T08:37:00.000-07:002009-06-01T08:42:36.143-07:002009 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X FQ-400(from Mitsubishi Press Release) The tenth version of Mitsubishi’s iconic Lancer Evolution models has a new performance flagship model to top its range, the FQ-400.

Extreme Evolution
The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X FQ-400 is the fastest and most extreme version of Mitsubishi’s motorsport derived machine. With 403bhp and 387lb.ft of torque on offer from its advanced, lightweight aluminium 2.0-litre turbocharged MIVEC (Mitsubishi Innovative Valve timing Electronic Control) petrol engine the FQ-400 is able to reach 62mph from standstill in an estimated 3.8 seconds before reaching an electronically limited 155mph – where permitted.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 188px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_lO_mFpZYfwg/SiP2oplAcuI/AAAAAAAAFRs/qzn1Ltq5fuU/s320/1.jpg" border="0" alt="2009 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X FQ-400"id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5342384761207812834" />Traction and handling
Ensuring all the FQ-400’s power is put to good use is Mitsubishi’s sophisticated Super-All Wheel Control (S-AWC) four-wheel-drive system which appropriates power to the wheels that can best use it, giving the FQ-400 quite sensational cross-country performance.

Extreme Power
To achieve the incredible 403bhp from just 2.0-litres Mitsubishi has had to significantly revise the FQ-400’s advanced powerplant. Motorsport specification high-flow fuel injectors are fitted to the aluminium cylinder head and a new hybrid turbocharger is also fitted. The higher specification turbocharger features low-friction bearings, a high temperature turbine and strengthened thrust bearing to increase response and reduce turbo lag. Feeding the turbocharger cooled air, improving its performance and efficiency, is an enhanced intercooler, while the exhaust’s gasses flow from the engine via a 3-inch diameter high flow stainless steel piping and catalytic convertor before exiting through a centrally positioned exhaust.

Mitsubishi has remapped the Engine Control Unit (ECU) extensively with over 500 hours of development time to allow its 2.0-litre turbocharged engine to not just produce its exceptional output but to do so with excellent driveability. The FQ-400’s acceleration is sensational, it pulling hard through the gears regardless of engine revs. With peak torque of 387lb.ft on offer from just 3,500rpm, the FQ-400 is just as able to trickle through town traffic as it is taking a rally special stage.

© Source: seriouswheels
We need your comments below >>

AnnaCardinalhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15603147400297077890noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18623385.post-78952451656426857992009-06-01T08:16:00.000-07:002009-06-01T08:37:44.700-07:002009 Vizualtech Time Attack Nissan 200(from Bo Zolland of Vizualtech) Here is a time attack/street Nissan 200 SX we have designed for a Swedish client. That's why when BMW introduced the X5 it was labeled as a "Sports Activity Vehicle" not an SUV. BMW designed the X5 knowing full well that the majority of largely suburban SUV buyers never even think about going off-road. Unfortunately, it appears that one driver, who evidently rented this X5 in Istanbul, never got that message. The purely on-road high performance tires \didn't clue him in that driving to the beach should not include driving past the beach and directly into the water. Prompted by his female companion, the driver went a bit too far. The results were easily predicable and the video after the jump shows clearly why the X5 (and most of its ilk) belong on-road only.

© Source: autoblog
We need your comments below >>

AnnaCardinalhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15603147400297077890noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18623385.post-34387851080738223952009-06-01T08:11:00.000-07:002009-06-01T08:13:56.000-07:002009 Savage Rivale Roadyacht GTS(from Savage Press Release) The Savage Rivale Roadyacht GTS is the only 4 door "topless on demand" supercar in the world.

The experience of driving with the wind rushing over, the engine roaring and the glass top, dropping within 20 seconds.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 207px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_lO_mFpZYfwg/SiPwDHcMwaI/AAAAAAAAFRU/Jnsr7t4Lk7k/s320/1.JPG" border="0" alt="2009 Savage Rivale Roadyacht GTS"id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5342377519319138722" />With its yacht-inspired interior wrapped around the brutal V8 pulling you from 0-300 kph (0-186 mph) in less than 35 seconds.

The Savage is a celebration to design. After nearly three years, the 331 km/h world record still stands – achieved by a sportscar with the MTM Bentley Continental GT. With MTM's Birkin Edition kit, the Continental GT, GTC and Flying Spur series can be upgraded with an exclusive and sporty look, fully in line with the legendary Bentley Boys, who exerted such an influence on the racing scene around 75 years ago.

The modified performance data with which MTM has revived the Bentley cannot be documented in purely technical terms, but performance is also proved on the track in the true sense of the word "experience". The MTM Bentley took three seconds off the standard counterpart on the short Hockenheim circuit, and also three seconds in the 0 to 200 km/h sprint, which the MTM Bolide achieved in 15.9 seconds. No wonder: With his great love for detail and technical efficiency, the developer Roland Mayer pushed the crucial 90 more Hp out of the 12-cylinder standard engine at Wettstetten near Ingolstadt. 650 Hp is the result, and the in-house performance tests recorded 795 Nm, supported by a perfectly coordinated exhaust system with muffler and throttle control which, in addition to the increased performance, delivers a beguiling sound.

As far as the optics and external appearance are concerned, MTM has made no obvious changes to the bodywork. The four-pipe exhaust system with MTM's F-Cantronic gives the tail its visual effect: approximately 30 mm lower than in the standard series. The small intelligent electronic control unit lowers the 2.4-tonner by 35 mm at the rear axle and by around 25 mm at the front axle. Combined with 21-inch alloy rims, the timeless Bimoto design lends an exclusive, sportier look to the Bentley, which not only offers more dynamics to buyers of new vehicles, but will also appeal to those who already drive a Bentley.

EUR 20,000 incl. VAT. MTM throws in the VAT, TЬV certification and assembly in the Birkin edition kit. Those who are still not satisfied can fall back on the MTM Individual program which, as the name implies, customises according to the buyer's wishes.

© Source: seriouswheels
We need your comments below >>

AnnaCardinalhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15603147400297077890noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18623385.post-10476734650677627622009-05-21T15:39:00.000-07:002009-05-21T15:41:30.376-07:002009 Porsche Cayenne Maff Muron(from Maff Press Release) MAFF Muron

- „Muron” wide body kit for the entire Porsche Cayenne range
- custom styled cockpit with Alcantara leather and carbon fiber inserts
- multimedia system and sound system configured after a MAFF concept
- power kit for the engine and sport exhaust tips designed by MAFF
- retuned electronic suspensions and especially designed MAFF alloy wheels

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 208px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_lO_mFpZYfwg/ShXYX7i6PMI/AAAAAAAAFRE/_ZPdJ45XTtk/s320/1.jpg" border="0" alt="2009 Porsche Cayenne Maff Muron-1"id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5338410838950296770" /><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 212px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_lO_mFpZYfwg/ShXYX5mH_2I/AAAAAAAAFQ8/LVgQ2zCJxq4/s320/2.JPG" border="0" alt="2009 Porsche Cayenne Maff Muron-2"id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5338410838426910562" />Popularity turned the Porsche Cayenne into quite a common presence on the roads. This explains why the German model features in the portfolio of so many car tuners. Unfortunately, the big sales volume made the aftermarket industry follow in the foot steps of the stock car manufacturers. And this is because they started producing the so called exclusive, unique body kits in large series. For all these reasons, MAFF Tuning developed the Muron project such as to offer the alternative of a truly custom interpretation of the super SUV. Thus, the Muron package represents a complex stylistic approach, which makes it more than sufficient for seriously amplifying the already powerful personality of the Cayenne.

The Muron body kit is built of carbon fiber. The package comprises of the following: front and rear spoilers, front grille with integrated LED daytime running lights, side skirts, roof spoiler, bonnet with dramatic scoops, masks for the head lights and tail lights, a discreet adornment for the boot lid, inserts of carbon fiber for the door handles, rear view mirror carcases with integrated LED signal lights and exhaust tailpipes covers. Each of these elements are a MAFF design and this is why the cars are adorned with the MAFF and Muron logos. Even the light alloy wheels are a special MAFF design. And their dimensions vary according to the request of each and every client.

For the interior of the car one can configure a virtualy unlimited number of layouts. This is possible due to the liberty MAFF gives to its clients regarding the choice of color, combination of materials, stitching design, embroiderments and inserts (carbon fiber among others). Only the finest leather types, like Alcantara, are used to tailor the cockpit. Even exotic alternatives like leather with a surface that imitates the carbon fiber texture have been selected by our customers. And the design, as well as the entire tailoring process are the work of the specialized department of the MAFF workshop.

The MAFF portfolio includes some unique models able to develop over 700 HP. This is why MAFF engineers also adjust the suspension of the car, aiming to improve its dynamic behavior. The ride height is consequently reduced by up to 8 cm. This is done by tuning the electronic management of the stock suspensions.

© Source: seriouswheels
We need your comments below >>

AnnaCardinalhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15603147400297077890noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18623385.post-55959764893771123222009-05-21T15:37:00.000-07:002009-05-21T15:39:11.784-07:00Audi Q5 Custom Concept imagesAudi has released new official pics of the Q5 Custom Concept prior to the prototype’s presentation at the Worthersee Tour 2009 next weekend. This power will be managed by the S-Tronic seven-speed transmission, and the whole proposal has fans a-flutter.

The model proves that the possibility of an “S” version in the Audi SUV range is not so fantastical. This could also be a preview to the next RS4, currently oscillating between a V6 and V8. And given the closer relationships among the VAG cars, we could even see this engine on Volkswagen or Porsche models.

© Source: eurocarblog
We need your comments below >>

AnnaCardinalhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15603147400297077890noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18623385.post-50085310893248788662009-05-21T15:35:00.000-07:002009-05-21T15:37:32.583-07:00Lamborghini Murcielago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce picsIt’s difficult to get the same emotion out of a Lamborghini Murciealgo LP 670-4 SuperVeloce photo gallery, but in the following pics at least we get a sense of its high speed appeal.
