AMG Takes Mercedes E63 to Next Level

AFFALTERBACH, Germany — A special AMG performance package for the 514-horsepower Mercedes-Benz E63 will be available in March, priced at the equivalent of $9,265.

The performance package includes 18-inch five-spoke AMG alloy wheels painted "sterling silver," an AMG performance suspension with firmer tuning and a multidisc rear locking differential with a 40 percent locking effect for more traction when accelerating out of corners. Other upgrades include an AMG ergonomic sport steering wheel in leather and black Alcantara trim with silver-colored aluminum shift paddles.

AMG also announced new factory options, including 19-inch twin-spoke AMG light alloy wheels and velour floor mats with AMG lettering for the Mercedes-Benz SL55 AMG. The SLK55 AMG gets an optional factory AMG performance suspension and 18-inch twin-spoke AMG light alloy wheels, while the CLK63 AMG gets velour floor mats with AMG lettering.
