X-change operation: Jaguar X-Type
Furiously flogging every last inch from its entry-level horse, Jaguar has revealed a revised X-Type - due to go on sale in the UK next year.
The most obvious alteration is the X-Type's nose: that mesh grille is straight off the new XJ, while there's a fresh front bumper, too.
But Jaguar insists that this isn't just a facelift, because some 500 components have been altered.
Significantly, the 2.2-litre diesel now comes with the option of Jag's six-speed automatic 'box: diesel buyers previously had to make do with the manual, but the new combination means you'll get fuel economy of 41mpg with CO2 emission of around 184g/km.
Prices will remain similar across the range.
You'll see the revised X-Type on the forecourts in March next year, almost exactly the same time as the new XF will go on sale.
