2008 Hyundai Santa Fe: What’s New
The Santa Fe mid-size crossover was new for 2007, and the current version is significantly larger than its predecessor - seven inches longer, one inch wider and almost two inches taller, with a 2.9-inch wider track.
There are two available V-6 engines. The standard 2.7-liter V-6 (GLS models) is rated at 185 horsepower while the step-up 3.3-liter V-6 (SE and Limited models) develops 242 horsepower. A five-speed manual or four-speed Shiftronic automatic transmission for manual control of gear changes can be selected with the smaller V-6 while the larger 3.3-liter comes only with a new five-speed Shiftronic automatic.
The Santa Fe also offers available third-row/seven-passenger seating. The optional third-row seat is split 50/50 and can be folded flat like the 60/40-split second-row seat. Total cargo volume is 78.2 cubic feet. Changes for 2008 include a standard 605-watt Infinity sound system and sunroof on the Limited model; new seat cloth on the SE; and an available navigation system.
