MCA ALA 50 Unveiled – Monaco’s Very Own Supercar
Monaco-based carmaker Monte Carlo Automobile has created a brand new GT, the MCA ALA 50, whose name honors His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco, who recently celebrated his 50th birthday in March.
The Sovereign Prince himself unveiled the prototype at the Yacht Club in Monte Carlo.
Designed by company founder Fuvio Maria Ballabio, the ALA 50, features a 650-horsepower V8 engine in a body crafted entirely out of carbon fiber. It was built to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Centenaire, Monaco’s first car brand.
The ALA 50 is expected to contend in the 2010 Le Mans 24-hour race driven by a team of three Monegasque drivers. The new supercar will see its official launch later this year, with a made-to-order, road-going model soon to follow.
