2008 Mercedes-Benz A-Class range
Mercedes-Benz has introduced the new-generation of its entry-level A-Class range into Australia which features a completely revised design, improved safety, comfort and economy. The revised 2008 range also includes the A 180 CDI model - marking the first time the A-Class has been offered locally with a turbo-diesel engine. The new model is defined by its redesigned headlamps, grille and front bumper which incorporates a much larger lower air intake.
The interior boasts high-grade upholstery fabrics and door linings with the Elegance line featuring leather seats while the Avantgarde models are upholstered in a combination of ARTICO man-made leather and fabric, which is available in three colours. These two models lines can also be differentiated through the use on smoke-grey brushed aluminium accents in the Elegance range while the Avantgarde uses wood trim.
The new A 180 CDI is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine that produces 80kW of power and 250Nm, paired with the standard-fitment six-speed manual transmission. Completing the 0-100km/h sprint in an acceptable 10.8 seconds, is consumes just 5.2-litres of diesel per 100kms.
Like all 2009 model Mercedes models, the A-Class features the latest generation infotainment system with a choice of two head units: Audio 20, and the optional COMAND APS.
