Presenting the Buick Park Avenue — From Shanghai General Motors
SHANGHAI, China — The Buick brand continues to make inroads into China's luxury market with the introduction on Tuesday of a high-end Park Avenue luxury sedan with such features as massaging seats all around and a Bluetooth hands-free phone system.
China's version of the Park Avenue will range in price from $42,550 for the 2.8-liter Comfort model to $64,500 for the 3.6-liter Flagship version.
Customers have a choice of two engines: a 3.6-liter V6 that generates 250 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 257 pound-feet of torque at 3,200 rpm or a 2.8-liter V6 that generates 201 hp at 6,000 rpm and 195 lb-ft of torque at 3,000 rpm.
The new Buick Park Avenue is based on GM's global rear-wheel-drive architecture. The U.S. version of the Buick Park Avenue was discontinued after 2005 and in 2006 was replaced by the Buick Lucerne.
