Lexus LF-A spotting
Toyota's LF-A supercar, revealed in concept form at the Detroit auto show in 2005 and 2007 and shown in production form when it participated in the Nürburgring 24 Hours in June, has surfaced again.
This time, the Lexus LF-A racing prototype was seen running a few laps on Nov. 24 at the Toyota Motorsport Festival at Fuji Speedway.
More significant for the car's eventual future as a production model was that avid race fan and likely future Toyota CEO Akio Toyoda, grandson of Toyota founder Kiichiro Toyoda, was at the wheel.
Toyota is expected to reveal the production LF-A in 2009 and to build about 500 cars starting in 2010 or 2011. The $300,000 supercar will be powered by a 4.8-liter, 500-hp V10.
